The Carteret Kraze 18U program is the first team from the Kraze program to play at the 18U/Showcase level since the programs inception in the fall of 2010. As a subsidiary of Carteret Junior Softball League Inc. Est. 1969, today the Kraze program houses teams at the 8U level through the 18U level. The program emerged in 2011 with (1) 12U team and (1) 14U team. Each year the program has expanded adding an additional 14U team, a 10U and 8U team in 2012. In the fall of 2013, in our 4th season, the Kraze added teams at the 16U and 18U level. Since 2010, our enrollment has gone from 23 players to nearly 75 this 2014 season.
In 2010 the Kraze leadership focused on establishing a competitive program where young ladies could learn the game of softball with an emphasis on fundamentals, respect, and sportsmanship. We believed that our greatest contribution is in teaching young people the values of competition: to make a commitment, to work hard, to strive for excellence, to sacrifice to make the team better, and to be the best you can be as a person and as an athlete. We believe that our job is to develop the total person and athlete. Our players learn to respect the game of fastpitch softball and all who are involved in it. Today, our mission continues to focus on the same original goals.
